TRANSMISSION REPAIR
REPAIRS THAT DO NOT REQUIRE REMOVING THE TRANSMISSION FROM THE VEHICLE (in most cases)
1) VALVE BODY REPAIRS OR ELECTRONIC SOLENOID SENSOR REPLACEMET
2) EXTERNAL ELECTRONIC SENSORS: SPEED SENSORS, THROTTLE SENSORS, COMPUTERS, AIR FLOW SENSORS & THESE ARE JUST A FEW THAT EFFECT THE PROPER OPERATION OF A TRANSMISSION
3) THESE REPAIRS TYPICALLY HAVE A 90 DAY WARRANTY UNLESS DAMAGED BY ANOTHER FAILED COMPONENT.
INTERNALLY REPAIRED TRANSMISSION (90 DAY WARRANTY)
REPAIRS THAT INVOLVE THE REMOVAL OF THE TRANSMISSION (TYPICALLY PERFORMED ON LOW MILEAGE VEHICLES)
1) CONSISTS OF REMOVING THE TRANSMISSION, DISASSEMBLING THE TRANSMISSION AND INSPECTING THE MAIN COMPONENTS (IF FOUND TO BE WITHIN SERVICE LIMITS, ONLY THE BAD COMPONENT WILL BE REPLACED. THIS CAN SAVE MONEY ON THE REPAIR! BUT THERE IS NO GUARANTEE THAT IT WILL NOT FAIL SOONER THAN AN OVERHAULED OR REBUILT TRANSMISSION.
2) THESE TYPES OF REPAIRS TYPICALLY HAVE A 90 DAY WARRANTY
OVERHAULED TRANSMISSION
REPAIRS THAT INVOVLE THE USE OF SOME EXISTING PARTS, SOME USED AND SOME NEW.
1) REQUIRES REMOVAL OF THE TRANSMISSION AND COMPLETE DISASSEMBLY AND CLEANING TO INSPECT ALL PARTS. IF ANY OF THE HARD PARTS ARE BEYOND THEIR SERVICE LIMITS THEY WILL BE REPLACED WITH REBUILT OR GOOD USED PARTS THAT ARE WITHIN SERVICABLE SPECIFICATIONS.
2) ALL NEW GASKETS AND SEALS WILL BE REPLACED.
3) ALL ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS WILL BE CLEANED, TESTED AND RE-USED UNLESS THEY ARE FAILED THEN REPLACED WITH REBUILT OR NEW.
4) ANY CLUTCHES THAT ARE WORN WILL BE REPLACED WITH NEW. ANY WORN BANDS WILL BE REPLACED WITH RE-LINED OR NEW.
5) WILL COME WITH A FLUSHED/CLEANED OR REMANUFACTURED TORQUE CONVERTER
6) THESE OVERHAULED TRANSMISSIONS COME WITH A 6 MONTH 0R 6000 MILE WARRANTY
COMPLETE REBUILT OR RE-MANUFACTURED TRANSMISSION (UP TO 3 YEAR/100,000 MILE WARRANTY MAY BE PURCHASED)
A REBUILD IS WHEN THEY USE ALL NEW OR FACTORY REBUILT PARTS THAT HAVE BEEN REBUILT TO NEW LIMITS. IN MOST CASES THE REBUILT TRANSMISSION IS A LITTLE CHEAPER THAN A NEW ONE AND WILL BE ALMOST AS GOOD.
1) REQUIRES REMOVAL OF THE TRANSMISSION AND COMPLETE DISASSEMBLY AND CLEANING TO INSPECT ALL PARTS. IF ANY OF THE HARD PARTS ARE BEYOND THEIR SERVICE LIMITS THEY WILL BE REPLACED WITH NEW OR REBUILT PARTS.
2) ALL NEW GASKETS, SEALS, ROTATING BUSHINGS, THRUST BEARINGS/WASHERS.
3) ALL NEW SOLENOIDS AND INTERNAL SPEED SENSORS/SOLENOID PACKS WILL BE NEW
4) ALL CLUTCHES, BANDS WILL BE NEW. NEW STEEL PLATES IF NEEDED.
5) ANY DEALER UPDATES WILL BE PERFORMED TO BRING THE TRANSMISSION TO THE LATEST SPECS.
6) TORQUE CONVERTER WILL BE RE-MANUFACTURED TO LATEST SPECS
7) SOME MODELS CAN BE UPGRADED EVEN FURTHER TO INCLUDE HEAVY DUTY OR SEVERE DUTY SERVICE LEVELS.
8) THESE TRANSMISSIONS COME STANDARD WITH A 1 YEAR 12000 MILE WARRANTY
9) AN ADDITIONAL WARRANTY OF UP TO 3 YEARS MAY BE PURCHASED WITH OUR REBUILT TRANSMISSIONS ONLY.

DUE TO THE VARYING REQUIREMENTS FOR THESE TYPES OF VEHICLES THESE TRANSMISSIONS ARE CUSTOM BUILT FOR EACH INDIVIDUAL VEHICLE.
What is the difference between a TRANSMISSION FLUSH and a TRANSMISSION SERVICE ?
AT CANBY TRANSMISSION WE BELIEVE IN A PROPER TRANSMISSION SERVICE OVER A FLUSH AND HERE IS WHY:
A FLUSHED TRANSMISSION DOES NOT INCLUDE DROPPING THE PAN SO YOU DO NOT KNOW THE CONDITION OF THE TRANSMISSION. IF THE TRANSMISSION IS IN POOR SHAPE OR THERE ARE A LOT OF CONTAMINANTS IN THE TRANSMISSION THE ONLY THING YOU WILL ACCOMPLISH BY FLUSHING IS STIRRING UP ALL THOSE DEBRIS WITH NEW DETERGENTS IN THE FLUID AND PUSHING THEM THROUGH THE FILTER AND INTO THE VALVE BODY AND ELECTRONIC SOLENOIDS CAUSING MORE HARM THAN GOOD.
WE AT CANBY TRANSMISSION PREFER TO DO THE TRADITIONAL SERVICE WHERE YOU PULL THE TRANSMISSION PAN DOWN AND PHYSICALLY CLEAN IT OUT, REPLACE THE FILTER, ADJUST ANY BANDS THAT ARE APPLICABLE AND MAKE NECESSARY ADJUSTMENTS. FILL WITH NEW TRANSMISSION FLUID AND IF WE THINK THAT THE FLUID IS EXTREMELY DIRTY OR DARK WE CAN PERFORM A FULL FLUSH AT THIS TIME. MOST TRANSMISSIONS SHOULD HAVE A ROUTINE SERVICE AT APPROXIMATELY 30,000 MILES OR 15,000 IF TOWING OR SEVERE DUTY.
